The Girodisc system is a direct replacement for the OE disc. No modifications are necessary.
-Sizing is ~299.8mm OD x 25mm Thickness (OE)
-Rotor weighs 1.5 lbs less than the OEM rotors (13.0 compared to 14.5).
-The rings are made from a proprietary high carbon content cast iron.
-Rings use a curved vane design that is much more effective at cooling the rotor than the straight vane design used in OEM single piece rotors.
-Fully floating design which utilizes 10 high strength alloy steel drive pins.
-The rotor and hat are cadmium plated for a long lasting corrosion resistance.
-The pins are mounted with anti-noise spring washers, which allow the rotor to grow with heat expansion but eliminate the rattle and noise associated with floating rotors.
-Fully floating design allows the rotor to self-center between the pads leading to more even pad wear.
-Once the GiroDisc system is in place, simply replace the cast iron rotor ring when needed, our replacement rotor rings come with all new hardware.
-Speed Freaks, LLC offers offers a free rebuild service via GiroDisc with the purchase of new rotor rings, simply send in your hats and GiroDisc will inspect them to make sure they are still within all tolerances, assemble the new rotor rings for you, and turn the entire assembly to ensure they are within specifications for run-out.
-When used with performance pads and hi-temp fluid, you have what amounts to a truly amazing solution to overheating or warping rotors.
GiroDisc two-piece rotors are also great for the street or track car that is also after a unique look. All rotors are available with custom drilled and slotted rings as well as hats that can be custom anodized in several different colors for an additional charge.
Consider upgrading your brakes with lightweight high performance replacements as opposed to a big brake kit, your factory bias is maintained as well as your ABS efficiency. The reduction in rotational and unsprung weight allows for quicker acceleration and suspension response.

Description
The central hat section of the disc is made from 6061-T6 aircraft specification aluminum. The disc is made from cast iron to the same specification and material as used by professional racing organizations. It is a curved vane design, developed in racing to act as a centrifugal pump to force cooling air through the disc.
The rotor and hat have a floating mount system, which utilizes 10 high strength alloy steel drive pins, manufactured by Girodisc to our own specifications and cadmium plated for a long lasting corrosion resistance. These pins take the load from braking actions while maintaining the axial and radial float between the hat and disc. In order to keep the rotors from making noise when cold, the pins are mounted with anti-noise spring washers on the rotor side which allow the rotor to grow with heat expansion but eliminate the rattle and noise associated with floating rotors. This float also allows the rotor to self center between the pads.
Once the Girodisc system is in place, simply replace the cast iron rotor when needed.
